What is an email account?
An email account allows you to send and receive electronic messages. Each email account has a specific login (user@example.com) and a password. Each account also has a quota which limits how much disk space the account can use.
Add an email account
1. Click the pull-down menu and click the appropriate domain.
2. Enter an email name, password, and password confirmation in the appropriate boxes.
Note: The Strength box will show you the strength of your password choice. If you want cPanel to generate a secure password for you, click the Password Generator button.
3. Enter the mailbox quota you wish for the new account to use. You may use the MB option to specify the account’s quota in megabytes or select Unlimited if you wish for the account have an unlimited mail quota.
Note: A mailbox quota defines the amount of hard drive space an account is able to use.
4. Click Create Account.
Search email
This feature allows you to search for a particular email account associated with your website.
1. Enter keyword(s) in the Search Email field.
2. Click Search Email.
Change the number of accounts listed on each page of the email accounts table.
- Click the Results per page pull-down menu and select the desired amount.
Change an email account’s password
1. Click Change Password to the right of the appropriate email account in the table.
2. Enter a new password and password confirmation in the appropriate boxes.
Note: The Strength box will show you the strength of your password choice. If you cannot think of a strong password, click Password Generator for an appropriate option.
3. Click Change Password to save changes or click cancel to cancel changes.
Change an email account’s quota
1. Click Change Quota to the right of the appropriate email account in the table.
2. Click the MB circle and enter the new quota (in megabytes) in the appropriate field or select the Unlimited option.
3. Click Change Quota to save your changes or click cancel to cancel changes.
Delete an email account
1. Click Delete to the right of the appropriate email account in the table.
2. Click Delete to confirm that you wish to remove the account or click cancel to cancel deletion.
Access Webmail for an email account
1. Click the More pull-down menu.
2. Click Access Webmail.
Configure email client for an email account
1. Click the More pull-down menu.
2. Click Configure Email Client.
3. Select the appropriate application from the Please select an application list.
Check the default email account
Depending on your email configuration, you may be able to use this feature to access email sent to invalid addresses at your domain. (You can edit this setting using the cPanel Default Address screen.)
- Click Access Webmail in the Default Email Account table.
